Booking / Ts&Cs

By contacting us with your booking requirements, you are accepting the terms and conditions set out below.

When you have chosen your holiday, please either

· call us on 01539 565 818 or 0790 3456136 Monday to Saturday 9am to 7pm GMT, or
· send an e-mail to emtholidays@hotmail.com.

We do not take bookings without speaking to you, to ensure that the holiday is appropriate for the experience and ability of those booking. This ensures the holiday you choose is suited to you, and is not jeopardised by others.

When sending us a letter or e-mail, we'll need to know:
· The holiday name
· The start date of the holiday
· The number of people booking, and ages if under 18
· Your name, postal address, telephone number and e-mail address

Once we have confirmed that the holiday is suitable, a deposit must be paid (£100 per person per week) to reserve the place on the holiday. This can be paid by cheque or credit transfer.

You will then be sent details about when to pay your balance, more detailed information on the holiday and a kit list.

Your holiday will be reserved for seven days from when you contact us - the deposit of £100 per person is required to confirm these places.

When booking a holiday, please be aware that mountain walking, scrambling and climbing are all dangerous activities, are undertaken at your own risk, and that accidents can happen. Insurance is required for all holidays outside the UK, and recommended for those in the UK.

Terms and Conditions

An initial deposit of £100 per person per week is required to confirm places on a holiday - the balance is payable no later than one month before the start of the holiday for UK holidays, or six weeks for all other holidays.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing, and are effective from the date of receipt. The following refunds will be made in the event of cancellations:

More than 6 weeks before the start of the holiday: Full cost less deposit
More than 30 days (for UK holidays) before the start of the holiday: Full cost less deposit
15 to 42 days before the start of the holiday: 50%
15 to 30 days before the start of the holiday (for UK holidays): 50%
8 to 14 days before the start of the holiday: 25%

No refund is made for cancellations 7 days or less before the start of the holiday, nor once the holiday has started. If full payment has not been made 30 days before the start of the holiday (21 for UK holidays), then EMT reserve the right to view this as a cancellation.

Cancellation by European Mountain Tours
EMT reserves the right to cancel any holiday up to 30 days before its commencement if less than three people book onto any holiday. A full refund will be given, or credit can be transferred to another holiday choice. EMT will not cancel holidays after 30 days before the date of commencement, unless as a result of force majeure.

Holiday Pricing
European Mountain Tours reserves the right to change the price of any holiday outside the UK up to 6 weeks before the start of the holiday. This would only be done in the case of exchange rates £:€ or £:SF changing beyond expected limits.

Changing Holidays
If you have booked a holiday, and would like to change to another EMT holiday for whatever reason, you can do this without charge if it is more than six weeks before the start of the holiday (or 30 days for UK holidays). If it is less than six weeks (or 30 days for UK holidays) before the start of the holiday, then this will be handled as a cancellation (see above).

Insurance
Every person going on an EMT holiday must have their own insurance to cover them for the activities involved in the areas concerned. Insurance will be checked at the start of the holiday - not having insurance may exclude participation in the holiday, and will be treated as a cancellation.

Passports
It is your responsibility to ensure your passport is up to date. We cannot take responsibility for any problems that may occur due to their invalidity.

Safety
Being in the presence of a qualified leader does not ensure there will be no accidents. Mountain walking is a dangerous activity, and those going on any holiday with a guide do so at their own risk. European Mountain Tours reserves the right to ask any person to leave a holiday if their actions are endangering themselves, the group, the guide or any other person. This will be viewed as a cancellation. If any person has to leave a holiday due to being unable to sustain the required pace, or unable to continue, and therefore jeopardising the holiday for the rest of the group, arrangements will be made for their accommodation and travel for the remains of the holiday, and some payments may be made for these within the budgets allowed by the holiday.

Under 18s
All under 18s must be accompanied by a parent at all times while undertaking activities on the holiday. Parents are responsible for the actions of their child.
